Sun damage, post-blemish marks and melasma — assessed properly before anything is recommended. Because with pigmentation, the wrong treatment can make it worse.
— MNP Clinic · Hornchurch
Sun-induced pigmentation, the marks left behind after blemishes, and melasma are three different things — they behave differently, and they respond to different treatment. Melasma in particular is hormonally driven and heat‑sensitive: treat it with the wrong energy and it can darken rather than fade.
That is why assessment comes first at MNP. Identifying what your pigmentation actually is decides everything that follows.
Not every heat-based treatment suits every pigmentation presentation. Radiofrequency heat can trigger melasma — which is why we always assess carefully before any surface‑heating treatment, and why the recommendation is sometimes a different route than the one you came in for.
That willingness to advise against unsuitable treatment is the whole point of a consultation-led clinic. Your skin is assessed by the person treating it — and the plan is built for your pigmentation, your skin tone and your history.
Four clinical routes for pigmentation — and the assessment decides which of them, in what order, at what strength.
Clinical-grade pigmentation correction without conventional peel downtime. The P‑Peel works on deeper pigmentation and post-acne marks; the J‑Peel treats hyperpigmentation, texture and mild scarring together. About NOON →
FDA‑cleared microneedling, clinically proven across pigmentation, texture and fine lines — and suitable for most skin types and tones. About SkinPen →
Where firmness or texture is wanted alongside pigmentation — or where pigmentation rules out other radiofrequency — PureDerma delivers its energy below the surface through insulated needles, safe on every skin tone. About PureDerma →
Nitrogen plasma is cleared for sun damage, pigmentation and melasma among a wide range of concerns — energy settings are programmed conservatively and discussed at consultation. About NeoGen →
Where tightening is your main concern and pigmentation is part of the picture, start with the skin tightening guide — the two are planned together.
“I have been having Collagen Wave with a couple of microneedling treatments in between to help renew my skin due to use of sunbeds over the years. Since having these treatments, my skin has felt tighter, it’s cleared up pigmentation I had and given me healthier, brighter, smoother skin.”
